MARGAO: Andhra Pradesh batsmen batted sensibly to score 181 for the loss of four wickets against Goa on the first day of the two-day tie of under-14 South Zone cricket tournament at BITS Pilani ground, Sancoale, on Sunday.  
Andhra won the toss and elected to bat. Openers S. J. Shakeer and P.V. Sai Dinesh Reddy put down 54 runs for the first wicket and later an unbeaten stand of 58 by J Durgakumar (53, 132 balls, 4×4) and M. Sri Arjun Ayappa. For Goa Shanu Vantamuri bagged two wickets.
At MCC ground, Margao, Karnataka scored 332 for 5 on the first day against Hyderabad with Devdutt cracking unbeaten 148 followed by Luvnith unbeaten 60.
Brief score: Andhra Pradesh 1st inning: 181 for 4 in 93 overs (S. J. Shakeer 27, P. V. Sai Dinesh Reddy 34, Y. Sandeep 39, S. Durgakumar 53 not out, M. Sri Arjun Ayappa 22 not out. ShanuVantamuri 2-65, Balkrishna Kanekar 1-42.
