The Tournament was played under Swiss league system in which total 6 rounds were conducted and Anirudh scored 5.5 points to remain unbeaten thus winning the title.
In the last round Sanjay Thorat bt Rudresh Fadte to settle on the second place, and Akhilesh Nigaley finished third. Other prize winners were Sahil Desai, Ayush Shetkar, Kiran Chopdekar, Morajkar Navin, Yash Paul, Fadte Rudresh, and Bhimappa Harijan
Category prizes were awarded to best U-7 boy and Kotha Skandhaj and Varada Naik, respectively. In U-9 Aarush Pandey and Vrishti Naik, U-11 Ganpule Utkarsh and Charuta Shetye, in U-13 Vardhaman Ganpule and Ananya Pandey, in U-15 Shvesh Naik and Manali Naik, youngest player was bagged by Aarush Salgaonkar.
The prizes were distributed at the hands of chief guest Ashok Naik, guest of hoenour Iqbal Shaikh, Rajan Faldesai, councilor, Achut Naik Secretary MTCA, Pundalik Naik (VP MTCA), Swapnil Hoble, chief arbiter.
The said championship is being introduced first time in the State by MTCA in the form of Taluka level chess championship series and the tournament structure shall be on continuous basis. The participant that fetches the most number of championships into his account shall be honoured and awarded with cash prize of Rs 10,000 and will be declared as overall champion of the series.
