PANJIM: Anirudha Parsekar of Mormugao emerged top at the under-15 all-Goa open rapid chess tournament, organized by chess RCC Fatorda and Unique Chess Academy (UCA), Margao under the affiliation of Salcete Taluka chess association, recently.
Anirudha scored eight points from a possible nine.
Aishwarya Thorat secured the second spot with 7.5 points with a better tie-break than third placed Shane Braganca, who also secured 7.5 points.
Urvi Bandekar, Aditee Prabhugaonkar, Vernekar Ridhikesh, Aston Dias, Viraj Porob, WCM Swera Braganca, Sanjay Thorat, Ashmit Arunjay Kumar, Madhavan G, Aryan Raikar, WCM Chopdekar Gunjal, Shvesh Naik, Ayush Shetkar, Milind Gauns and
Advait Rajiv Dhawalikar finished in the fourth to 18th places respectively.
Unique Academy special player prizes were awarded to Sanat Borkar, Madgaonkar Pradyumn, Saish Pondekar, Dalal Ambar, Neil Barreto, Vibhuti Dessai and Devesh Naik.
The prizes were given at the hands of chief guest Ashesh Keni, President of Salcete Taluka Chess Association in the presence of Aman Prabhugaonkar, President of Canacona Taluka Chess Association; SAG coach Sanjay Kavlekar; Sopan Kudchadkar, President of UCA and Amrut Naik, Vice President of UCA.
