PANJIM: Anjana Kumari and Aashrun Gautam won the double crowns in the U-17, 19 girls and boys category at the all-Goa major ranking badminton tournament organised by Shuttler’s Club in collaboration with Goa Badminton Association and SAG, at the Indoor Stadium, Campal-Panjim, on Sunday.
Rudra Dukle, Arshia Gautam and Sushil Nayak won their maiden titles in their respective categories with top seed Yasmin Sayed also emerging victorious.
In the U-17, 19 boys and girls finals, Aashrun Gautam outsmarted Yash Kunkolienkar 21-11, 21-12 while Anjana Kumari overpowered Anar Singbal 15-21, 22-20, 21-18.
Aashrun Gautam outplayed Yash Kunkolienkar 21-12, 21-10 while Anjana Kumari beat Manjushri Raut 21-19, 21-15.
In the U-15 boys and girls, Sushil Nayak defeated Tejas Tendulkar 21-18, 14-21, 21-15 while Yasmin Sayed beat Lydia Barreto 21-13, 21-10.
In U-13 boys and girls, Rudra Dukle outplayed Aashutosh Dhavalikar 21-15, 16-21, 21-15 while Arshia Gautam got the better of Manpreet Kaur 21-11, 21-6.
SAG coaches Roy Athaide and Vinayak Kamat were the officials. GBA President Richard D’Souza and officials Sarfraz Sheikh, Luciano Saores and Sandeep Heble graced the prize distribution occasion.
