PANJIM: Anshuman Agarwal has set up a title clash against Shantesh Mapsekar in the Junior Boys final, at the State Table Tennis Championship organised by Goa Table Tennis Association in collaboration with the Sports Authority of Goa (SAG), at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium, Taleigao Plateau, on Sunday.
Anshuman prevailed over Aaron Colaco winning 3-1 in the semi-final while Shantesh downed Jayz Gomes 3-0 in the other semis. Meanwhile, Dheeraj Rai, Anshuman Agarwal, Sanmay Paranjpe and Diljeet Velingker have moved into the semi-finals in the men’s section.
Following are the results: Junior Boys Quarter-Finals: Anshuman Agarwal bt Khushal Naik 3-0 (11-6, 11-9, 11-7), Jayz Gomes bt Advait Mudras 3-2 (10-12, 11-5, 6-11, 11-8, 11-7), Shantesh Mapsekar bt Akshan Lawande 3-0 (11-8, 1-8, 11-4), Aaron Colaco bt Azriel Fernandes 3-1 (13-11. 8-11, 11-6, 13-11).
