PANJIM: Former India No 1 Anura Prabhu Desai from Ponda, bagged an individual silver medal and team event bronze medal at the Central Zone Badminton Championship 2022.
Brand Ambassador of Geno Pharmaceuticals, Anura represents Indian Railways.
She defeated Rituparna Das of PSPB 21-18, 17-21, 21-19 in the semi-finals.
However in a closely-contested final, Anura went down fighting to Ashmita Chaliha of PSPB.
The Goa girl fought well, winning the first game. But eventually lost 21-16,11-21,18-21 to settle for the silver medal in the individual women’s singles competition.
Anura, 24, is presently training at the Khelo India Centre at Campal.
