PANJIM: Goa’s Anura Prabhu Desai won silver medal and prize money of 440$ in women’s senior singles at the Mauritius International, recently.
Anura lost against Shikha Gautam of India 21-8, 17-21, 21-19 in the final.
This is the first Senior International medal won by a Goan shuttler in badminton. In the quarters she won against Fathimath Nabaaha Abdul Razzaq of Maldives 21-6, 21-14. In the semi-finals, she won against Grace King of England 21-10, 21-4.
