Anurag, Ameya and Bhakti dominate Round 2

PANJIM: Grandmasters Anurag Mhamal, FIDE Master Ameya Audi collected maximum points at the end of round two in the Cateogry A, while Woman Grandmaster Bhakti Kulkari found her winning ways back again as the Goan masterminds continued their fine run in the 1st Goa International Chess Tournament organised by Goa Chess, played at Dr Shayma Mukherjee Indoor Stadium, Bambolim, on Sunday.
Anurag, Goa’s first GM, walked away winner against a WFM Cholleti Sahajasri to remain on par with other International GMs.  Ameya beat Sahil Dye to take his points tally to two and to remain on top.
Following a slow start, Woman Grandmaster Bhakti Kulkarni came back strongly in the Round 2 as she got the better of Andra Pradesh’s Akshita Kumar. Bhakti is now on 1.5 points.
On top boards, Kravtsiv Martyn, Amonatov Farrukh, Predke Alexandr, Popov Ivan, Idani Pouya, M Vadim T Samuel continued to show their dominance as they beat their respective opponents to grab maximum points.
Other Goans, FM Nitish Belurkar, Reuban Colaco, Nanshini Saripalli also earned their first point beating Varsha Ramesh, WFM Bidhur Rutumbara and Sathya Narayan S respectively. 
Meawhile Devesh Anand Naik put up a strong fight against Woman International Master Parnali Dharia to earn a draw. Ritviz Parab beat Wilson Cruz.
Meanwhile in Category B, Parsekar Anirudh is on 51 position with 4 points, Tanad Anil Bandodkar and Anirudh Bhat are on 3.5 points at the end of Round 5. Parsekar Anirudh beat Maskepatil Kaustabh while Anirudh Bhat beat Lad M Pradip and Tanad was held by Abhineesh S.
Other Goans Ramdas Sawant, Manoj Yash, Shekar Sirsat, Swayam Naik, Jugan Sales Rodrigues, Lad Pradip, Sairaj Dilip Vernekar, Sharath Shanbhag, ACM Srilaxmi Kamat, Ashmita A Ray are on three points.
