PANJIM: Anvesh Gaude won the inter-class school chess tournament 2024-25 organised by The Kamakshi Education Society’s Higher Secondary School, Curti, for their students in association with the Ponda Taluka Chess Association.
The match between Anvesh and Mayank in the final round ended in a draw and both players scored 4.5 points. On tie-breaker, Mayank Gaude stood second. Four players scored 4 points on tie-breaker. Third place was bagged by Athul Nair, fourth by Aryan Panshikar, fifth Amol Gaude, sixth by Pratik Gaude, seventh by Vedant Palkar (3.5 points) and eight by Shreya Satarkar.

Consolation prizes were given to Gandharv Naik and Maithili Gaude. Event co-ordinators Luis Vaz and Anil Raut, took special efforts to make the tournament a successful one.
Chief arbiter Anand Kurtikar was supported by Milind Gaude and Vrajesh Natekar. Earlier, Vanita Naik welcomed the guest, while Molly Abraham compered. Luis Vaz proposed a vote of thanks.
