PANJIM: Holy Cross Arambol edged past Saligao Sporting, 5-4 via a sudden death tie-breaker to progress to the next round of the Aldona Cup played at Quitula ground, Aldona on Wednesday. The match ended goalless.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Amit Fernandes, Antonio Rodrigues, Vithal Kindlekar, Shashank Ashwekar and Gladston Cardoz scored for Arambol while Jason Fernandes hit the post.
For Saligao Sporting, Nazi Sheikh, Vesvino Miranda, Vilesh Satardekar and Vijayendra Shetye scored while Jason D’Mello and Assumption Crasto shot wide.
