Sao Jose de Areal Sports Club booked a place in the quarter-finals edging past Verna Sports Club 9-8 via tie-breaker in the 24th Fraxier Trophy inter-village football tournament, organised by Young Strikers, Benaulim, at Dando ground, Benaulim on Sunday.
The teams played attacking soccer but were unable to score in both sessions. 
In the nail biting penalty shoot-out, Freddy Olveira, Mario Rebello, Daisy Olveira, Mario Baretto, Alleulia Fernandes, Luis Dias, Austin Endro, Polly Rebello and John Endro were on target for Sao Jose de Areal while Wilson Fernandes, John Honda, Francis Calado, Polly Abranches, Joao Abranches , Santan Rego and Peter scored for Verna.
