Arjun Sood lifts triple crown

Arjun Sood put up a good performance to win a triple crown in the finals of All-Goa Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament organised by Lions Club of Ponda in association with Shree Mangirish Vidyadayini Samstha.
Arjun took the sub-junior, junior singles and partnered Yash Ginani to take the junior doubles titles. He was awarded a prize of Rs. 25,000 sponsored by Sameer Salgaocar.

Cadet boys – Wesley Do Rosario beat Yash Salgaocar 5-11, 11-9, 11-6, 4-11, 11-9.
Cadet girls Urmila Mense beat Tanisi Kirtani 11-2, 11-2, 11-9.
Sub-junior boys Arjun Sood beat B. Sree Siddharth 13-11, 11-7, 11-5.
Sub-junior girls Akshata Naik beat Kefira Rodrigues 11-13, 12-14, 11-9, 11-4, 11-7.
Junior boys Arjun Sood beat Nishad Shevde 11-7, 11-8, 11-13, 12-10.
Junior girls Saloni Shirwaiker beat Gayatri Talavdekar 11-9, 11-7, 13-11.
Junior doubles Arjun Sood and Yash Ginani beat Krishal and Yash Salgaocar 9-11, 12-10, 11-5, 11-2.
Sagar Sakordekar, President of Lions Club of Ponda, presided over the function. Krishna Punaji, Vice-District Governor-2 was the chief guest. Neeti Kamat, Headmistress, Wagle High School, Mangeshi was the guest of honour. Prizes were distributed by Krishna Punaji and Neeti Kamat.
Radha Sakordekar introduced the guests. Chief referee Ashok Mahambrey and Lenny Do Rosario were felicitated by Punaji.
Punaji congratulated all participants, parents and appreciated Lions Club of Ponda for conducting the event. Sudan Kunkolienkar, Secretary of the Club proposed the vote of thanks. Sohan Kelekar was the project chairman and Sandip Pagi, the coordinator.
