MAPUSA: Arlem Youth Association registered a hard fought 1-0 win over Ambelim SC in the inaugural match of the Anjuna Gymkhana Cup 2024, organised by Anjuna Gymkhana, held at Tembi ground, Anjuna, on Wednesday.
In a Salcete derby, both the teams did start earnestly but it was in the 19th minute of play, Ancel Tavares tapped the ball in to the goal from close beating the Ambelim goalkeeper, 1-0.
Ancel Tavares was awarded first scorer of the tournament while Jake Medeira was declared best goalkeeper. Gerason Fernandes was awarded man-of-the-match.
