PANJIM: Arush Naik emerged champions securing 6.5 points out of 7 in the Shobhavati Satarkar Memorial Curti invitational chess tournament organised by Gram Vikas Samiti on the occasion of its Silver Jubilee Year in association with Ajinkya Chess Academy and Ponda Taluka Chess Association (PTCA).
Atharv Shirodkar and Sriya Gaunekar secured the second and third place respectively. Chetan Kurtikar, Aryan Shirodkar, Rupam Gaude, Sarvesh Kurtikar, Samarth Borkar, Mayank Shetkar and Swayam Naik secured fourth to tenth place respectively.
Consolation prizes were awarded to Nishesh Gaude, Divesh Priolkar, Swara Rane, Moumita Naskar, Aryan Jojo and Tansh Gaude. Chief guest Amogh Namshiker (secretary, PTCA), Anand Kurtikar (executive member of Ponda Taluka Association), Leena Satarkar, Lala Satarkar, president of Laxmi Sports and Cultural Club, Panchme-Priol; Sandesh Naik (joint-secretary, PTCA), Subhash Gaude, joint treasurer of Krishna Devalay Committee and Arbiter Milind Gaude gave away the prizes.
Maithili Gaude compered and Anushka Naik proposed a vote of thanks.
