PANJIM: Arvi XI Korgaon defeated Shantadurga Betim by 3 runs in the Camurlim United Sports Club and Challengers Sports Club’s 6th panchayat level leather ball cricket tournament, recently.
Arvi XI elected to bat and scored 108 runs for 7 wickets. Abhijit Kerkar (31) and Anant Bhaidkar (17) top scored for the Korgaon side.
In reply, Shantadurga Betim scored 105 runs all out in 17.3 overs. Lakshay Garg scored 43 runs for his side.
Arvi XI’s Aniket Desai picked 3 wickets while Mahesh Bhaidkar and Navnath Kerkar took two wickets each as they won the match by 3 runs.
Goa Cricket Association president Suraj Lotlikar and the former Goa Cricket Association secretary Vinod Phadke were the chief guests for the prize distribution ceremony.
