Altogether, 36 participants took part and each one was allowed to use five coconuts.
Baba Daniel entered the final with two coconuts while Ashnoy Rodrigues with one. In the deciding hit, Baba Daniel’s coconut broke leaving Ashnoy as the winner.
The winner was awarded a cash prize of Rs10,000 and a rolling trophy while the runner-up was awarded Rs 7,000. The third place winner Benedict Rodrigues took home Rs 3,000.
Chief guest President of Calangute Association Gajanan Kerkar and guest of honour Vice President of Goa Boxing Association Filipe Dias gave away the prizes.
Also present for the competition were special invitees Alex Fernandes, ex-sarpanch of Calangute Village Panchayat, Adv Francisco Sousa, ex-president of Calangute Association, Alirio Lobo, executive member of Calangute Association.
