MAPUSA/FATORDA: Assagao Union High School, Assagao defeated St Xavier’s High School, Moira 3-0 to advance ahead in the Bardez Taluka U-17 Subroto Mukherjee football tournament, organised by DYSA, at Duler Stadium, here, on Saturday.
N. Anil scored a brace while Dadapir Adur also got his name on the scoresheet for the winners.
In the second match, St Theresa High School, Candolim got the better of Saraswat Vidhyalaya, Khorlim-Mapusa 4-2.
Marc Mascarenhas netted brace while Yash Tilve and Aaron Rodrigues accounted for the next two goals. l Ojas Porob and Nikhil Laad managed to reduce the margin by scoring two goals for Saraswat Schoo.
In the last match, DMs PVS Khushe Higher Secondary, Assagao downed St. Joseph’s High School, Arpora 2-0. Both the goals were scored by Krish Naroji.
At Astroturf ground, Fatorda, in the Salcete taluka level, Rosary HS of Navelim downed St Anthony’s HS of Majorda 2-0. Louis Noah and Mehboob Hussain scored a goal each for the winners. In the second match, St Joseph’s Educational Institute got the better of St Jude’s HS, Betalbatim 4-2 via the tie-breaker after the match ended at 1-1 at the end of regulation time.
U-14 Mormugao Taluka level
Navy Childrens’ High School, Chicalim edged past Regina Mundi High School, Chicalim 2-1. Girish Kumar and A. Yadav netted for the winners while
Daniel Pereira pulled a goal back for Regina Mundi HS.
Deepvihar High School, Sada got the better of Our Lady of Candelaria School, Baina 4-0. Manthan Honaverkar netted a brace while Utkarsh Parsekar and Ulhas Naik scored a goal each.
St Andrew’s Institute, Vasco shot-out St Ann’s High School, Qualossim 4-2 via the tie-breaker. In the last match, Our Lady of Perpetua Socorro, Cortalim steamrolled Govt. High School Vademnagar 9-0. Vardhan, Velroy and Ashon netted a hat-trick each.
