MAPUSA: Assagao Union High School registered a solitary goal win over St Clara’s High School, Assonora 1-0 in the Bardez Taluka U-14 boys football tournament, organised by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, played at Assonora Sports Complex, on Tuesday.
The all important goal was scored by Dattesh Dessai.
In the second match Shree Ganesh High School Mapusa drubbed Shree Shantadurga Vidyalay Pirna 5-0. Pradeep Singh scored three goals while Prasad Mullourie scored one goal and the last was a self goal.
In the evening session Saraswat Vidyalay, Mapusa trounced Shri Ram Vidya Mandir Colvale 4-0. Rohan Mangaonkar scored a brace while Mukesh Naik and Yuvraj Singh Rane scored a goal each for Saraswat Vidyalay.
In the fourth match of the day, GS Amonkar Vidya Mandir, Mapusa defeated Government High School, Guirim 4-2 via tie-breaker after both the teams played a goalless draw in their stipulated time.
Somesh Talwar, Vallabh Mandrekar Neeraj Karapurkar and Anand Mesta converted for GS Amonkar Vidya Mandir while Rohit bilung and Badal Mallik scored goals for Guirim school.
