VILLA-MAREX-CHANDOR: Assolda edged past Areal 2-1 to move into the quarter-finals of the 17th Villa MAREX Chandor Seamen football tournament, at Villa Marex ground, Chandor, on Wednesday.
Sezvil Cardzo opened the score-line for Assolda in the 40th minute but the joy was short-lived as ten minutes later Marcus Gomes equalised for Areal.
It was Succoro Fernandes who scored the match-winner for Assolda in the 60th minute.
Assolda will now meet the winner of Villa Marex and Costa Cruises in the quarter-finals on September 10.
