VILLA-MAREX CHANDOR: Assolda got the better of Davorlim 3-1 to move into the quarter-finals of the 16th All-Goa Open Seamen football tournament organised by Villa Marex Boys, Chandor, at Villa Marex ground, Chandor, on Monday.
In the 20th minute, Assolda netted the first goal of the match through James’ placement shot. Two minutes later, Benson doubled the lead for Assolda.
Succoro netted a goal to make it 3-0 for Assolda in the 40th minute. Valmicky pulled a goal back for Davorlim in the 50th minute. Assolda will now meet the winner of Villa Marex and Gonvol on September 4 in the quarter-finals.
