CURTORIM: Assolda Veterans edged past Candolim Veterans 2-1to move into the semi-finals of the Curtorim Veterans football tournament played at DYSA Curtorim ground, on Sunday.
Remmy Baretto and Jerry Colaco scored a goal each in the 32nd and 45th minutes for Assolda Veterans.
Shetgaokar pulled a goal back for Candolim Veterans in the 50th minute. Candolim Veterans strikers didn’t lose hope and tried hard to find an equaliser but could not penetrate the rival defence.
On Saturday, Mark Caterers, Nuvem scored a solitary goal win over Albert Developers, Merces to move into the quarter-finals.
The match winner was scored by Marcus Carvalho in the 52nd minute.
Mark Caterers will meet Curtorim Veterans in the quarter-final on January 24.
