MARGAO: Assumpta Convent. Mt Mary HS, OL of Carmel, Bethany Convent, Infant Jesus HS, St Xavier’s Institute, Curtorim move ahead in the U-17 Boys Salcete zone inter-school football tournament played at Ambelim football ground, on Monday.
Assumpta Convent defeated Posh English HS of Navelim by 3-0. Wthan Leitao, Imran Makandar and Subinoy Desai scored for the winners. Mount Mary HS of Chinchinim scored 4-1 win over St Rock HS of Tollecanto. Eden Velho scored a brace while Amancio Fernandes and Godfrey Simoes were the other scorers. The only goal for St Rock HS was netted by Candrick Simoes.
OL of Carmel HS defeated Holy Rosary Convent HS of Nuvem by 4-1 goals. Joel D’Silva and Ajinkya Dessai scored a brace each while D Sardinha netted the only goal for Holy Rosary. St Xavier’s Institute, Curtorim scored 5-0 win over Auxillium HS of Benaulim. Anselm Fernandes scored a brace while Sahil Bijapur, Vaibhav Pednekar and Daniel Pereira netted one goal each.
Infant Jesus HS of Colva defeated OL of Health HS of Cuncolim by 4-0 goals. Aniket Kumar scored a brace while Ralston Fernandes and Vijay Gudimani scored a goal each. Bethany Convent HS of Sao Jose de Areal also move ahead with a 9-0 win over St Francis Xavier HS. Lloyd Rocha scored four, Pio Gomendes scored a brace while Fanstar Dias, S Moura and Velan Soares netted a goal each.
