Autocross finals at Navelim today

PANJIM, JAN 22
Vaibhav Marathe (Ponda), Rishabh Kavlekar (Margao), Jay Kamat (Panjim), Jonas Fernandes (Vasco), Suraj Sawaikar (Ponda), Nikhil Revodkar (Ponda), Akshata Mamledar (Porvorim, ladies class) will be the ones to be watched at FMSCI recognised “Need For Speed Autocross Challenge 2011” organized by Salcete Youth Association at Esmeralda Barreto track, Navelim on Sunday from 2.30 p.m.
The SYA is headed by Rio Barretto with Debhav Mangaonkar, Salman Sheikh, Charles Fernandes, Sarvesh Naik and Alex Fernandes being among the working force.
The 500m track which adheres to FMSCI parameters under Ibhamin Thakker consists of a combination of tricky turns and chicanes, which will test the skill of the driver and the endurance of the cars.
PWD Minister, Churchill Alemao will preside. Chief Minister Digambar Kamat will be the chief guest. Sports Minister Babu Azgaonkar, Vijay Sardessai, V M Prabhudesai SAG’s ED will be the guests of honour.
