FATORDA: Auxillium HS, Benaulim, St Joseph’s HS, Aquem and St Alex HSS, Curtorim booked their places in the last 8 stage of the U-17 Subroto Mukherjee inter-school Salcete Taluka boys football tournament organised by DSYA, at Astroturf ground, Fatorda on Wednesday.
Auxillium HS scored a solitary goal win over Mount Mary’s HSS, Chinchinim.
The all important goal of the match was scored in the 18th minute by Diago Goes.
Reanjil Baretto scored a superb hat-trick as St Joseph’s HS, Aquem trounced Manovikas English HS 3-0.
In the third match, Kevin Kalsolkar’s lone goal helped St Alex HSS, Curtorim to enter in the last eight stage of the tournament with a win over Rosary HS, Navelim
In the U-17 girls Salcete taluka category, Rosary HS and Perpetual Succour Convent HS both of Navelim cruised into the semi-finals, at Cuncolim School playground, Cuncolim.
In the first quarter-final, Rosary HS blanked The King’s HS, Sao Jose de Areal 3-0.
Diksha Ahirwar, Divya Chavanke and Valanda D’Silva scored in the second session.
In the second match, Perpetual Convent HS scored a 3-2 tie-breaker win over OL of Carmel HS, Curtorim after the full session of the match ended in a goalless draw.
