FATORDA: Auxillium HS, Benaulim, St Joseph’s HS, Aquem and St Alex HSS, Curtorim moved into the second round of the U-17 Salcete Taluka Subroto Mukherjee football tournament organised by DSYA, at Astroturf ground, Fatorda, on Friday.
In the first match, Auxillium HS defeated King’s HS of Sao Jose de Areal 3-2 via the tie-breaker after the match ended goalless at full-time.
In the tie-breaker, Austin D’Silva, Azan Mulla and Shavan Rodrigues scored for Auxillium HS while Shabaz Khan and Z. Costa were on target for The King’s School.
In the second match, St Joseph’s HS, Aquem defeated Fr Agnel Mutipurpose HS, Verna by 5-4 via the tie-breaker after the match ended goalless in regular time.
Adman Gomes, Wedley Baretto, Shaovin Noronha and Bryan Pinto scored for winners while Shail Imandar, Keegan Dias and Meliston Carvalho scored for Fr Agnel.
A goal in the first session by Kevan Kalsolkar helped St Alex HSS beat Bethany Convent HS.
