MARGAO: Ave Maria Athletic & Walkers Club defeated Youth Welfare Sports Club 3-1 in GFA U-13 league, Benaulim ground (SAG),on Saturday.
Both the teams began the match on an attacking note. Joshua D’Silva broke the deadlock and scored the lone goal for the losing team in the 4th minute. At the breather, Youth Welfare Sports Club were in lead 1-0.
In the second half, Ave Maria Athlethic & Walkers Club changed some tactics of their play. The defenders stood like rocks not allowing the Youth Welfare Sports Club to score. Slayden Gonsalves equalised in the 40th minute. Ave Maria Athletic & Walkers Club doubled their score in the 44th minute through Emmanuel Carvalho. Salerno Rodrigues was the other goal scorer for the winners.
Elsewhere, at Betalbatim ground, Salcete Football Club thrashed Wilred Leisure Sports Club 11-0.
Shannon Endro exhibited a five star performance for the winner. Shannon Endro scored his first 10th minute goal and then added four goals subsequently to complete the riot.
Treston scored a hattrick for Salcete Football Club.
Anselo. N , Jeriko Pereira and Ackley Costa scored each for the winners.
At Don Bosco Oratory ground, Fatorda, Futebal Club YFA hammered Pax of Nagoa 22-1. Leading by 9-1 at the breather, Soham Mane and Eric Tales scored four goals each, Soham Souza, Warren Rodrigues, Daneilson Vaz, Lochlan Souza, Irwin Faleiro and Valech Fernandes scored a brace each while Daneilson Vaz, Trond Dias, Zane Reverado and Shazaib Bepari scored a goal each for Futebal Club YFA. The only goal for Pax of Nagoa was scored from a spot kick by Ashwin Cardozo.
