CURCHOREM: Deputy Chief Minister Chandrakant (Babu) Kavlekar on Thursday laid the foundation stone for the construction of stage on the Avedem Panchayat football ground.
Speaking on the occasion Kavlekar informed that the stage would be constructed from the Zilla Panchayat fund by spending around Rs.6.30 lakhs for the benefit of the locals and particularly of the players and organisers of the various games at the venue.
“I will extend all my cooperation to the local body to undertake all the development activities in the area which will benefit the locals particularly for the youth,” said Kavlekar and urged them to take the maximum benefit of the facilities provided by the government.
Xeldem Zilla Panchayat member Hazel Fernandes, Sarpanch Alleluia Afonso Deputy Sarpanch Sangeeta Prabhudessai, Panch Mafaldo Fernandes, Gouresh Gaunkar, Vithal Oliveira were present among others.
