Subsequently, Navelim Sporting Clue had a go in the 19th minute as Clinton Niasso worked his magic past the Ambelilm Sports Club defence only to see his rasping drive blocked by rival defender Alvito Colaco.
The teams provided exciting brand of football but could not find the breakthrough in the first session.
Post resumption, the teams took on the field with a renewed sense of purpose.
Ambelim Sports Club made their intent clear as Donald Rocha fired a grounder from close range but saw his effort thwarted by the goalkeeper of Navelim Sporting Club in the 39th minute.
Thereafter, Navelim Sporting Club clicked as a unit with well orchestrated raids in the midfield as Avlon Gomes secured a quick fire brace.
Avlon broke the deadlock in the 40th minute after dribbling three defenders of Ambelim Sports Club and then put the issue beyond doubt in the 45th minute with a deft placement to make it 2-0.
Clinton Niasso played an instrumental role as he assisted Avlon on both the occasions.
Ambelim Sports Club went all out in the final quarter of the match but the rival defence stood their ground.
