MAPUSA/RAIA: BAFF had an easy outing as they outplayed Xetrapal SC by 3-0 margin to book their place into the final of the GFA’s Third Division League played at Duler Stadium, here, on Tuesday.
Both the teams after their remarkable wins in the quarters saw BAFF hold the upper hand and finally take the lead in the 12th minute with player of the match and star player for BAFF Sanket Pal scoring on entering the 18-yard box 1-0.
On crossing over, Xetrapal SC did try to get back into the match but in the 63rd minute, an own goal by Sandeep Dhargalkar saw the ball sneak into their own goal to give BAFF two goals lead, 2-0.
Twenty minutes later, Mahableshwar Tanekar pumped in the third goal to put his team into the final.
BAFF’s Sankit Pal received the best player award from Pravin Dhabolkar, Goa Football Association’s Executive Committee member.
South Goa United SC downed St Sebastian YC, Murida-Fatorda 2-0 in the GFA 3rd Division League football played at Betalbatim ground, on Tuesday.
Prajwal Ghadi and Felix Varghese scored a goal each for South Goa United.
In another match played at Dramapur ground, Santa Cruz Club of Poitomido defeated Sporting Club of Davorlim 5-3. For Santa Cruz Club of Poitomido, Shivam Sambhaji Velip scored a hat-trick, while Wayne Pires and Mathew Fernandes netted a goal each.
For Sporting Club of Davorlim, Paxton Gomes, Melchoir Miranda and Veliston Colaco reduced the margin.
