MAPUSA/MARGAO: BAFF proved to be too good as they drubbed Kelbai SC 4-0 in the GFA’s Third Division League-Bardez Zone played at Sirsaim ground, on Friday.
Kelbai unit played gallantly in the first session to hold their rivals to a goalless draw in the first session of play. However on crossing over BAFF colt’s exerted pressure and it was finally Vinayak Rane highest scorer for his team in the ongoing league who opened the account in the 71st minute with an adroit placement to give his side the lead. There was no looking back for BAFF and they pumped in three more goals through Sanket Pal, Vinayak Rane and Samir Vijapuri adding their names to the scorers list.
At Duler stadium, Holiday Sports club Arpora and Sangolda Lightning played out a goalless draw and shared a point each.
At Don Bosco ground, Edison Dias scored a fine brace to help St. Sebastiao Youth Club beat Raitura Sports Club 2-0. Edison scored both goals in the first session in the 10th and the 27th minutes.
At Rosary ground, Navelim, Sirvodem Sports Club registered a resounding 4-1 win over Navelim SC. The teams started on equal footing and neither side could break the deadlock in the first session. In the second half, Jayson Miranda broke the deadlock in the 55th minute before Lenon Fernandes doubled the lead for Sirvodem in the 65th minute. Hritish Velip scored a brace in the span of two minutes in 72nd and 74th minutes to take Sirvodem SC to 4-0. Terance Miranda pulled a goal back for Navelim in the 80th minute.
