CURCHOREM: Bardez Veterans beat Guardian Angel Veterans 10-9 via the tie-breaker in an exhibition match played at Curchorem ground, on Sunday.
In the first half Bardez scored through Alex in the 7th minute. Bardez led 1-0 at half time. In the second half, Guardian Angel equalised through Climax Lawrence in the 49th minute when Alvito played a through pass to Narayan and the latter was brought down in the box. Lawrence scored from penalty spot. In the resultant penalty shoot-out, Bardez Veterans proved to better shooters. Power Minister Nilesh Cabral was the chief guest and Balkrishna Hodankar was the guest of honour along with Shyam Sarmalkar as a special invitee. Guardian Angel Veterans also felicitated Tito D’Cunha and Antonio Fernandes for their contribution towards the club.
