SINQUETIM-NAVELIM: Augustine Rodrigues scored one and turned provider for another as Bardez Veterans got past Campal Veterans 2-0 to enter the 50+ final of the GVFC football tournament, at the Sinquetim ground, on Friday.
Tied goalless at the end of the first half, Bardez got an all-important breakthrough midway through the second period when Rodrigues sneaked in to connect a measured corner kick from former Indian skipper Bruno Countinho.
They doubled their lead three minutes from the end after Rodrigues laid in the path of Alwyn Fernandes.
Bardez Veterans will now meet Verna Veterans in Sunday’s final.
Bardez came closest to scoring in the third and 15th minute, but for an alert Bharat Morje on the Campal goal.
