CAVELOSSIM: Batty Boys prevailed over TP Boys 2-1 to march into the final of the late Santan & Silvio Mendes Memorial football tournament , organised by Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim, at Fr Druston and Wellington ground, Cavelossim.
The first goal was scored for Batty Boys off Sheriff Jacques’ clever move when he floated a long pass to Dwayne who passed the ball to Winson Pereira in the penalty area to head the ball in.
Shaken by the goal, TP Boys mounted an all out attack with Raju and Elly combining well upfront to give a harrowing time for Batty Boys with Raju Cardozo heading in the equaliser off a well taken corner by Edwin.
The winning goal resulted due to a blunder by the TP Boys goalkeeper Rosario who lost the ball on the edge of penalty area as Dexter Barreto shot into the unguarded goal to seal a great win for Batty Boys, who will now clash with the winners of ITS and Miracle Boys of Mobor.
