NEW DELHI, DEC 23
The second edition of the Goa Premier League (GPL) on Thursday hit a roadblock with the BCCI not granting official recognition to the tournament, saying disciplinary action would be taken against those participating in the event.
“The Goa Premier League has not been recognised by BCCI and permission not obtained for the same,” chief administrator of BCCI, Rantakar Shetty said in a statement.
“All the players and officials participating in this tournament will face disciplinary action,” he said.
Meanwhile GCA president Dayanand Narvekar stated that the BCCI had objected to outstation players being inducted in the tournament and the tournament will be played as planned.
