Beevan, Jaison help Dempo SC gain 3 pts

MAPUSA: A master-class performance by medio Jessel Carneiro enabled Dempo Sports Club get the better of Bardez FC 2-0 in the Goa Professional League match played at Duler Stadium, here, on Thursday.
After a goalless first half, Dempo SC netted both the goals in the second half through Beevan D’Mello and Jaison Vaz.
It was Bardez FC who were of their blocks quickly and had a sniff at Dempo SC’s goal in the very 6th minute when Rungsing Muinao clever pass found a well-positioned U-20 winger Aniket Agarwadekar who surprisingly shot wide.
Minutes later, Kirtikesh Gadekar tried to find Beevan with a dangerous looking pass inside the box but defender Bardez Luis Miranda sensed the danger in the nick of time and cleared the ball.
Dempo SC kept squandering opportunities this time in the 13th minute, Jessel Carneiro intelligent ball found Beevan inside the danger box but the striker could not keep his header goal wards and the chance was gone.
Bardez FC keeper Royal Basumatory came to his sides rescue when he left his rearguard to deny Beevan once again from giving Dempo SC the lead, the pass provider being Jessel Carneiro.
Skipper Cho Lepca almost broke the deadlock for Bardez FC before half time when his rasping shot hit the crossbar to the dismay of the players and dugout.
Crossing ends, Beevan finally found the net for Dempo SC within two minutes with a deft placement after Joaquim Abranches cross was headed onto his path. 
In a positive switch by Dempo SC coach wherein Jaison Vaz was brought in for the tired Beevan, instantly paid off as they got their second goal in the 61st minute. Kirtikesh measured pass found Jessel who smartly cut the ball back to Jaison, whose shot had no answer to Bardez FC keeper Basumatory.
Joaquim almost made it 3-0 minutes later but his fierce shot hit the crossbar with Jessel orchestrating the move once again.
Cho Lepcha had a chance to pull one back for Bardez FC but failed to get a touch to a goal seeking cross by their U-20 winger Richard Cardoz.
