UTORDA: United Club of Benaulim and Betalbatim SC entered the quarterfinals of the 24th Lourdes Festival Soccer, organised by United Club of Utorda in association with Sports Authority of Goa, on Sunday.
While United Club defeated Cuncolim Union via the tie-breaker 4-2, Betalbatim Sports Club beat Goa Velha SC 2-0.
Benaulim and Cuncolim played a goalless draw in the regulation time. In the tie-breaker, Benaulim proved to be better shooters.
In the other pre-quarters, Betalbatim eased past their opponents.
Travis Barretto gave the winners lead in the 15th minute. Betalbatim led 1-0 at the break.
Post resumption, Goa Velha Sports Club made several attempts to equalise but their attempts proved futile. Princeton Rebellion increased the tally at 63th minute for Betalbatim.
