MARGAO: Sports Minister Ramesh Tawadkar recently inaugurated the newly refurbished SAG football ground, at Vaddi-Benaulim, which is popularly known as Trinity ground.
The ground before renovation was used for practice sessions by teams which participated in the recently held Lusofonia Games Goa 2014.
Benaulim MLA Caitano D’Silva, Nuvem MLA Mickey Pacheco, Benaulim Sarpanch Royla Fernandes, Director of Sports and Youth Affairs VM Prabhudessai, SAG Executive Engineer Chimulkar, Benaulim panch Gelda Fernandes, Rita Furtado, Remy Fernandes and others attended the opening ceremony.
On the occasion, Tawadkar in his speech stressed to maintain the ground in pristine conditions and assured all help for the development of the game.
Earlier, the Nehru stadium Manager Gurudas Vernekar welcomed the dignitaries while Benaulim Sarpanch Royla Fernandes proposed the vote of thanks.
