VASCO: Bengaluru FC coach Alberto Roca Pujol was furious following their 1-2 defeat against the Goan side that saw them lose two matches in a row.
Alberto slammed the Churchill Bros coach Alfred Fernandes by calling him ‘clown’.
“First of all I would like to make a statement. Today it was a shameful day for Indian football. I never saw a coach kicking a player. The coach of CB kicked one of my players (Juan Antonio Gonzalez). The coach was completely a clown. The coach can never provoke a player,” said furious Roca.
The Spaniard defended his players and blamed Alfred for the act.
“I never want this coach to coach in India. CB doesn’t deserve this coach. For sure we will file a complaint against the coach for kicking our player and provoking them,” he added.
“It was action of the game. He tried just to tackle and unfortunately the player was little bit early. But it was not like we were frustrated. The things were under control. We could have scored the second goal,” Roca explained.
“Second half we did a mistake again. And Churchill did a good job. They defended well. Congratulations to them. We will try to improve and try to be better,” he explained.
The Spaniard coach left the press conference avoiding further questions by saying, “He was a clown trying to provoke situation.”
At the other end, Churchill Brother coach Alfred Fernandes refuted the accusation from BFC coach and said, “You can see the football footage. The incident happened in front of my technical area. They came charging, I didn’t go on the field. The players came in my technical area and assaulted me on my neck.”
When asked about BFC coaches statement, Alfred said, “He has no right to tell me that I shouldn’t be the coach. It’s none of his business,”
When asked how the situation built up the Benaulim coach said, “The moment he hit my player he deserved the red card. I yelled at him (Johnson) and he gave me abusive words.”
“Action should be taken against the player as he came in and gave me knocks. I will complain against the player,” he added
“Foreign coaches think they know everything in football, that’s why all these allegations. They should also respect Indian coaches. We know our business. This is an all out aggression. The same thing they did with AFC championship final. They should be good losers, they don’t lose every day,” said Alfred
Alfred dedicated this win to CEO Valanka Alemao, club patron Churchill Alemao and the players.
Chesterpoul and Wolfe put up a splendid performance for the Red Machine as the duo scored a goal each and each created an assist.
“It is my duty to make Chesterpoul stand grounded. It’s been a year he is with me. He is growing and I’m working with him and whatever he is doing is good. He gave a man of the match performance.  And I gave Wolfe the confidence and morale boosting. He scored a goal and had an assist.
He was low on confidence but I gave him the push. May be the morale support has helped him out,” he concluded.
