Betalbatim edge past PY Nuvem

Betalbatim Sporting Club prevailed over Parish Youth, Nuvem 5-4 via the tie-breaker to storm into the finals of Verna Panchayat Cup inter-village football tournament organised by Verna Sports Club at Verna ground, on Sunday.
The teams were locked in a goalless draw at the end of regulation period.
Betalbatim had more off the ball and came close to scoring on a number of occasions but luck eluded them on two occasions.
Denzil Rogtao created many scares in the rival defence but he muffed two easy sitters.
Parish Youth also had umpteen scoring chances but Betalbatim defender Allwick Fernandes was rock solid and thwarted the rival attacks with neat tackles.
Both Betalbatim and Parish Youth went all out in the second half with well orchestrated raids but the defenders were stubborn.
In the penalty shoot-out,  Allwick Fernandes, Allison Rogtao,  Desmond D’Souza, Denzil Rogtao and Cajie D’Souza were on target for Betalbatim. Tony Colaco, Neves Noronha, Daniel Colaco and Xavier Colaco converted for Parish Youth.
