BETALBATIM: Betalbatim SC got the better of Cuncolim Union 4-2 via the tie-breaker to enter the finals of the Martins Cup football tournament held at the Betalbatim ground, on Tuesday.
Micky Fernandes the central midfielder of Cuncolim connected the ball to Valky Fernandes whose shot was pushed away to safety by Jonathan Miranda the keeper of Betalbatim in the 3rd minute.
In the 7th minute, Micky Fernandes had a chance through a free-kick which went curling but Betalbatim keeper saved the ball.
Klusner Pereira had a chance to score for Betalbatim but the goal bond shot was saved by Vicky Naik the goalkeeper of Cuncolim.
As the match progressed, Klusner Pereira’s power drive shot was saved on the goaline by Ashrafia Pinto of Cuncolim.
Minutes later, Micky of Cuncolim provided two chances to Bharat Gaonkar and Frazier Fernandes but both of them shot the ball wide.
In the tie-breaker Betalbatim netted through Klusner Pereira, Adriel D’Souza, Hasten D’Costa and Brandon Barbosa while for Cuncolim Union Astrafio Pinto and Micky Fernandes scored.
