BETALBATIM: Betalbatim SC blanked CAC Cansaulim 4-0 to enter into the semi-final of the Martin’s Cup football tournament played at Betalbatim ground, on Saturday.
Klusner Pereira the upcoming striker of Betalbatim should have netted the first goal in the 4th minute after he collected the ball from Brandon Barretto.
Betalbatim defender dribbled past Rosheel Figuerido and shot from close range but Cansaulim keeper Prabhakar Kattimani pushed away the ball to safety.
A set piece worked out by Cansaulim’s Jowet Barretto and Richard Rodrigues should have borne fruits but Betalbatim defender Jonathan Miranda failed to convert the chance in the 6th minute.
Minutes later Betalbatim went all guns blazing at Cansaulim and fired the first goal of the match through Klusner Pereira’s long ranger which sailed to the far corner of Cansaulim net in the 10th minute.
Later, Betalbatim’s Celio Fernandes curler hit the inside of Cansaulim cross bar and entered into Cansaulim net in the 36th minute before Adriel D’Souza netted the third for Betalbatim in the 40th minute.
As the match was about to end, Klusner Pereira drove the final nail into the coffin to make it 4-0 for Betalbatim, at full-time.
