RAIA: Dixon Rogtav send Betalbatim Sports Club in to the semifinal of 6th Martin’s Cup 23-24 defeating CAC Cansaulim by a solitary goal, organised by Betalbatim Sports Club and played at panchayat ground, Betalbatim, on Thursday.
It was a battle of supremacy as both neighbouring clubs were fighting to enter the semifinal. In the 6th minutes of the game Jesus Ferrao shoot from the box went over the cross bar. Macon Pereira send a cross pass to Dixon Rogtanv who slot past Cansaulim goalkeeper in the 24th minute of the game to make it 1-0 in favour of Betalbatim.
In second session CAC cansaulim went all out in search of equaliser. Arron fernandes, Rahul Nagvekar, Dominic Soares tried their level best but Betalbatim defence of Senartro Brenson and Azan stood firm and denied Cansaulim the much wanted goal.
Milton D’Souza goalkeeper of Betalbatim played the major role in their win.
Betalbatim’s Keith Rodrigues was awarded man-of-the-match at the hands of Keith Vaz ex-MP of Labour Party, UK.
