CHICALIM: Bethany Convent defeated Our Lady of Health HS Cuncolim 2-0 in the final to clinch the 3rd Baptist Memorial Football Tournament, at Chicalim Panchayat ground, at Chicalim, on Thursday.
Hansel Oliveira scored the first goal in the 15th minute. The winners led 1-0 at the break. Eight minutes into the second half, Aryan Carvalho doubled the lead with a long range shot which gave no chance for the rival keeper.
Soccorro Coutinho was the chief guest for the final and gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up in the presence of guest of honor Peter Rodrigues, Vallabh Mambre and other dignitaries.
