DAMON RAIA: Bethany Convent HS, Sao Jose de Areal moved into the quarter-finals of the 3rd U-14 Fr Peter SVD Memorial football tournamentby after defeating Mount Mary’s HS, Chinchinim 5-0, at SVD Seminary ground, on Monday.
Bethany boys showed their piece of class with beautiful passes, co-ordination and crosses piercing into the defence of Mount Mary.
Towards the second half, Mount Mary also displayed their brilliance, though they fell short off against the gigantic defence of the opponents.
Sawesh Palkar was awarded man-of-the-match for his brace in the 6th and 8th minutes for Bethany whereas Venon Rocha, Leo Gomindes and Stanford Rebello scored a goal each in the 12th, 14th and 18th minutes respectively.
