MARGAO: Bethany Convent High School, Sao Jose de Areal and Our Lady Mother of Poor HS, Tilamol moved into the second round of the 2nd Ramnath D Volvotkar Memorial inter-school football tournament, organised by Insight The Society for Sports, Culture, Youth Affairs & Charity of Gudi-Paroda, played at Gudi–Paroda ground, on Thursday.
In the first match, down by a goal, Bethany Convent HS scored hard-fought 2-1 goal win over Our Lady of Health High School, Cuncolim.
OL of Health HS took the lead through Velroy Fernandes in the 9th minute. Bethany Convent HS dominated the rest of the match and equalised through Aron Endro in the 20th minute. Aron doubled the lead for Bethany in the 44th minute and was later adjudged as man of the match.
In the second match – OL Mother of the Poor High School, Tilamol defeated OL of Carmel HS, Curtorim 2-0. Faria Joefan gave Tilamol School the lead in the 24th minute. In second session Salgeo Dias doubled the lead in the 50th minute of a pass from Faria Joefan. Joefan was adjudged as man of the match.
