DAMON-RAIA: Bethany Convent High School, Sao Jose de Areal registered solitary goal win over Our Lady of Succour HS, Nagoa to move into the quarter-finals of the 4th Fr Peter SVD Memorial football tournament, organised by SVD Mission Seminary in association with SVD Friends Association, at SVD Seminary ground, Damon-Raia, on Wednesday.
It was Sanvesh Palkar who netted the match-winner for Bethany in the 23rd minute.
Succour striker Christo Dias was named man-of-the-match.
In another match, Saviour of the World HS, Loutolim defeated Our Lady of Snows HS, Raia 3-1 to move into the semi-finals.
Monica Sanchez opened the score-line for Loutolim with a power-packed shot in the 23rd minute off Ronil Gomes’ connect.
Later in the 27th minute, Arison Fernandes doubled the account for Saviour with a placement shot. Anniston D’Silva netted the third for Saviours in the 34th minute.
Nippon Tete pulled a goal back for Snows in the 45th minute.
