CHICALIM: Holders Bethany Convent School, Sao Jose de Areal downed St Thomas High School, Cansaulim 2-0 to win the 23rd edition of the Bro. D. O. Slattery Memorial U-13 Inter-School Football Tournament, organised by the Alumni Association of Regina Mundi School and played at the RMS ground, Chicalim.
Sam Moura scored both the goals for the winners.
Earlier in the semi-final, Bethany eased past Deepvihar High School 2-0.
The goals were scored by Sam Moura and Myron Gomides.
St Thomas High School beat Marina English High School, Verna 2-0. Masia d Mello and Jeremy Barreto were on the score-sheet for St. Thomas.
In the third place match, Marina English High School beat Deepvihar School, Sada 4-0. Addison Fernandes, Vancillo DSilva, Mark Braganza and Snyder D’Costa scored for the winners.
The prizes, trophies, certificates, medals were distributed by Bro. Sebastian George Headmaster of Regina Mundi School in the presence of Bro Raj Noronha, Superior of Christian Brothers, Adlear D Cruz, CEO of Salgaocar FC & GFA Member, Francisco Nunes, GFA Member, Orville Rodrigues, President of Velsao Sports & Cultural Club, Oswald D Costa Physical Education Director of St Andrews College, Vadem, Mr Eugenio Rodrigues (Raju) Football Coach, Edgar Britto, Nathan Pereira, Ralph Trindade (all ex. students) and senior teacher Manoj Halarnkar.
