Betim SCC, Panvel, Bandora, Bicholim register wins

PANJIM: Betim Sports and Cultural Club and Panvel registered victories to move ahead in the Panjim Gymkhana’s Bandodkar Knock Out T20 cricket tournament 2015 at Panjim Gymkhana ground, Campal-Panjim, on Wednesday.

In the first match, Betim Sports and Cultural Club defeated Pollem Cricket Club by four runs.
Pollem won the toss and elected to field, Betim in their inning scored 82 runs losing eight wickets in 17 overs. Sandeep Tandel 18, Pratik Gawas 11, Vinod Sutar 17 top scored.  Vaman Parab 11/2, Mukesh Naik 15/2, Arjun Morajkar 20/1 and Ram Dhuri 8/2 bowled up to the mark.
In reply, Pollem Cricket Club were bowled out at 78 runs for nine wickets in 17 overs. Piyush Yadav 16 and Atish Shetgaokar 22 managed to score highest. Nishikant Bhosle                    20/1, Snehal Ghate 10/1, Vinod Sutar 20/1 and Pratik Gawas 10/1 demolished the rival batting line up. 
In another match, Vishal Vernekar’s batting and bowling skills helped Panvel to defeat Candolim Association by five runs.
Panvel won the toss and elected to bat scoring 113 runs losing all wickets in 18 overs. Vishal Vernekar 33, Ketan Nandrekar 16, Mihir Kundaikar 21, Sarvesh Bhide 10 performed well. Dilip Candolkar 28/3, Sachin Nanodkar 16/1, Sagar Wadhwani 21/3 and Shantiraj Sawant 7/1 were at their best.
In reply, Candolim Association managed to score 108 runs losing four wickets in 18 overs.
Sagar Wadhwani 38 and Pratik Satandekar 33 scored. Rupesh Popkar 19/1, Vishal Vernekar 17/2 and Mihir Kundaikar 18/1 contained the rival batsmen.
Earlier, Bandora Youth Club and Bicholim Cricket Club won their respective matches to progress into the next round. 
Bandora defeated Rudreshwar Yuvak Sangh by six wickets. Rudreshwar won the toss and elected to bat, posting 85/9 in 18 overs. Bandora chased the target with six wickets in hand in the 14.3 overs.
Bicholim thumped Young Stars of Moula by 34 runs. Bicholim won the toss and elected to bat. They scored 94/10 in 17.4 overs. Young Stars of Moula managed just 60 runs as they were bowled out in the 16th over.
