MARGAO: Bhatikar Model English High School will take on Mahila Nutan English High School in the final of the 16th Mukund Trikkanad memorial inter-school U-16 cricket tournament, organized by Margao Cricket Club, at Dr Rajendra Prasad ground, here, at 8 a.m.
In the first semi-finals, Bhatikar Model HS defeated Vidyamandir School of Chicalim by 69 runs while in the second semi-finals, Mahila Nutan HS got the better of St Joseph’s Institute of Vasco by eight wickets.
Brief scores: Bhatikar Model HS, 160 for 4 in 20 overs (Digesh Raikar 53 not out, Rahul Mehta 44, Pralav Kerkar 34, Druv Lolyekar 13 not out. Saiprasad Virnodkar 2-25, Chetan Harmalkar 1-24, Shubhankar Bhosle 1-36) beat Vidyamandir, 91 all out in 19 overs (Mahendra Pagdale 42, Sairaj Khutwalkar 11. Sheel Angle 3-19, Druv Lolyekar 3-7).
St Joseph’s Institute, 83 for 8 in 20 overs (Om Phadte 25, Daivik Rao 21, Anish Verlekar 16. Manchit Naik 2-22, Saish Satardekar 2-13, Mohit Redkar, Shreyash Gawande and Shashikant Parab one wicket each) lost to Mahila Nutan HS, 88 for 2 in 16 overs (Shreyash Gawande 41 not out, Kanishk Masurkar 35. Manmeet Suvarna 1-22).
