MARGAO: Bhatikar Model School, Margao defeated A J D Almeida HS, Ponda by a huge margin of 178 runs to emerge champions of the 17th Mukund Trikkanad memorial inter-school cricket tournament organized by Margao Cricket Club, at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Stadium, recently.
Bhatikar Model School scored 284 for 5 in the allotted 40 overs. Shubham Gajinkar remained unbeaten as he scored 149 runs. In reply, A J D Almeida School were bundled out for just 106 runs as Bhatikar’s Deep Kaswanker scalped 7 wickets for just 13 runs. Secretary of Goa Cricket Association Daya Pagi was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of Dinesh Trikkanad sponsorer of the tournament, Yogesh Naik President of MCC.
The individual prizes are as follows: Man-of-the-series: Shubham Gajinkar (Bhatikar Model), Best bowler: Vedang Bandekar (Bhatikar Model), Best batsman: Kaushal Hattangadi (Bhatikar Model), Best all-round performance: Atharv Mopkar (Almeida School).
